Eight-year-old MALEN lives in a building in Berlin withher older sister Mariana (19). Their father is absentand their mother is always out of the house. When MALEN finds out that her older sister isunintentionally pregnant, she develops into ashamana, just like her female ancestors. The dragonin the playground becomes her totem. With a ritual,she helps her big sister to overcome the difficultmoment of the abortion. The two siblings, who onlyhave each other, become a symbol for a generationof strong, young women who grow together from theirexperiences and change the world around them.
